Highlights of the workshop
MDA is pleased to share highlights from Bengkel MaHTAS: Horizon Scanning in Health Technologies, a half-day workshop designed to increase awareness and understanding among industry players, institutions, and relevant agencies on the concept, role, and process of Horizon Scanning implemented by MaHTAS within Malaysia’s healthcare system.
Horizon scanning plays a pivotal role in alerting decision-makers and stakeholders about emerging and innovative health technologies—helping ensure the health system is adequately prepared and ready for their adoption. The workshop also served as a platform to strengthen collaboration and deepen understanding of how Horizon Scanning supports evidence-informed healthcare decision-making in Malaysia.
The sessions were led by Dr. Syaqirah Akmal, Deputy Director of MaHTAS, who shared insights on Horizon Scanning in Malaysia and Horizon Scanning in Making an Impact, followed by Madam Maharita binti Ab Rahman, who presented on the Horizon Scanning work process
