Summary:
The ESG Awareness Program was held on April 22, 2024, at Menara MITI, welcoming 87 delegates dedicated to advancing sustainability in the business sector. The event aimed to provide a comprehensive overview of the government’s initiative to promote the adoption of the ESG agenda through the i-ESG framework. Participants gained valuable insights into sustainability reporting and ESG practices, designed to enhance awareness among MSMEs and foster sustainable supply chains. Additionally, the program facilitated the sharing of best practices and compelling case studies highlighting successful partnerships between MNCs and MSMEs in implementing effective ESG strategies. This program also aimed to strengthen relationships between MITI, Swiss MNCs, and MSMEs in Malaysia, supporting responsible and sustainable development across the region.
The objective:
- Provide an overview of the government’s initiative on driving the adoption of the ESG agenda through the i-ESG framework;
- Enhance MSME’s awareness and understanding of sustainability reporting and ESG practices to create sustainable supply chains;
- Facilitate the sharing of best practices and case studies of successful partnerships between MNCs and MSMEs towards implementing good ESG practices;
