MMDA Letter to MDA on Custom Prohibition Order

    Membership & Criteria


    Membership shall be open to any organization involved in the medical device industry (with the exception of Honorary Membership), in the form of sole-proprietor, partnership, locally incorporated companies or corporation registered in Malaysia with the appropriate body. Membership means membership in the following categories:

    a. Ordinary Members

    Membership shall consist of organization engaged in the following categories:

    • Distributor, Importers, Traders, Manufacturers and/or LARs in Malaysia.
    • Each member is entitled to nominate one representative and one alternate representative respectively.
    • Only one representative is allowed to be elected as Committee and one voting right at General Meeting of the Association.

    b. Associate Members

    • Does not qualify as ordinary members
    • Each member is entitled to nominate one representative and one alternate representative.
    • Not entitled to vote at General Meeting of the Association nor be elected as Committee.

    c. Honorary Members

    • The Committee may confer Honorary members to deserving individuals who have, in their opinion, contributed to development of the medical device industry.
    • Not entitled to vote at General Meeting of the Association nor be appointed or elected as Committee.

    A member upon his admission shall be bound by the Rules of the Association and Code of Ethics.
